There couldn’t have been a finer start to the decade! Southbound 2010 proved the most definitive Southbound Festival yet - two blissful days, three perfect nights, more than 150 acts, 20,000 souls in unison…one festival!

We’re still buzzing at Sunset Events HQ, sorry that Southbound is over for another year but truly excited about the possibilities for 2011’s festival.

The sixth annual Southbound took Busselton’s iconic music, camping and arts festival to brand new heights – the year the festival grew to include three nights and two massive days, finally providing WA with its very own multi-day, multi-stage feast of music. It was also the year Base Camp expanded to become the heart and soul of the festival, providing campers with their own little eco village experience.

Southbound 2010 was also our cleanest yet. Keep up to date with all environmental developments on the Southbound homepage in the weeks ahead, plus track your contribution to the many amazing tree planting and eco projects partly funded by your Green Fee.

And the bands…ahhh, who could forget Rodrigo y Gabriela’s heavenly acoustic jam on the Friday night? It all heated up on Saturday with unforgettable sets from, amongst many, many others, Chairlift, Seasick Steve, the all-conquering Art Vs Science, The Editors, Wolfmother, The Phenomenal Handclap Band and, of course, the ever-dazzling Moby. Saturday was also the day Grizzly Bear won countless new hearts, DJ Yoda took us on a dizzy pop-culture ride and King Khan taught us how to, ummm, get down.

And then came Sunday – the day that well and truly belonged to Karen O and her band of plenty, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Lisa Mitchell managed to woo the sleeping masses from their tents over to the main festival arena for a perfect start to the day, followed by amazing sets from White Rabbits, Xavier Rudd, The Temper Trap and Sarah Blasko. Hilltop Hoods played one of their greatest shows of all time, inspiring an almighty dance-fest while over on That Stage Datarock put the ‘track’ back in ‘suits’.

13,000 campers, 7,000 day trippers, 150 semi trailers, 50,000 bottles of water, 120,000 meals all garnished with a feast of art, culture and exploration.
